FAQ

My child or I have never surfed before, is it safe?

At Better L8 Then Never Surf Experience, we take safety seriously. We believe that learning surfing and water safety skills should happen in a protected environment. That’s why our instructors are experienced surfers who possess extensive knowledge of ocean safety, as well as CPR, first aid, and Lifeguard certifications. Our instructors are trained to teach individuals of all skill levels, including those with little-to-no ocean experience. Our advanced safety protocols guarantee that everyone has a fun and safe time while building their confidence and developing long-lasting ocean-safety skills and a love for surfing.

Do I or my child need to know how to swim?

We highly recommend that all participants can swim the length of a 25-yard pool to ensure the safest and most enjoyable experience. However, we understand that some individuals may not have a lot of experience with the ocean or may not be strong swimmers. If you or your child fall under this category, please add a note about it in the “notes” section when registering for the experience. Our team is fully equipped to provide the necessary support in the water to ensure everyone’s safety and comfort.

What should I bring to my experience?

Please pack sunscreen, a beach towel, a bathing suit, water, and a snack.

What if I’m going to be late?

If you’re running late, call or text us immediately on our business line at (714) 698-9026. We understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise, and traffic can be unpredictable, so leaving your location an hour earlier than you planned is highly recommended, depending on how far you live from our location. Additionally, we advise arriving at least 30 minutes early to ensure ample time to find parking, especially during summertime when parking can be challenging.

What is your rescheduling policy?

To ensure a smooth and punctual experience for everyone, we kindly request that you provide us with at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to reschedule. Our office closes at 5:00pm, so please let us know as soon as possible if you require a change of date or time. This will help us to accommodate your request and keep our schedule running smoothly. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
